Aqua Exercises for Active Aging. The latest audio workout from international fitness educator Laurie Denomme will help you improve flexibility and build strength. This workout is especially beneficial for people over 50 years old.
- EASY HOME WORKOUTS: If you’re looking for a break from your usual fitness routine, why not dive into aquatic exercise right from home? Exercising in water can provide a great full-body workout and you’re burning calories, while being immersed in water. Water aerobics is a low-impact cardio exercise. This means it’s gentler on your bones and joints, making it a safer exercise option. Ideal for training in your backyard pool or for groups that do not have the benefit of a live instructor.
2-IN-1 AUDIO CD WORKOUTS: Water is buoyant and reduces the stress on your feet, knees, and hips. The water allows you to challenge yourself more as there is minimal risk of injury when balance is lost. That is why we include 2 shallow water workouts with no equipment required, Strength is Balance (45-minutes) and Ai Chi Relaxation (15-minutes). One to increase core activity and the other to relax and restore energy including mental, physical, and spiritual energies. This is NOT a DVD.
ONE HOUR ATHLETIC PROGRAMS: Fun routines to fit into your busy life-style. Low-impact workouts that are easy to understand. A water workout lesson that offers an efficient way to increase fitness. Since water provides resistance in both directions, you can achieve twice the workout capacity in the same amount of time.
Workout #1: Strength is Balance (45-minutes)
Having a strong core is beneficial for your body to function properly. Your core stabilizes your body, allowing you to move in any direction, have proper balance and prevent falls.
Core exercises train the muscles in your pelvis, lower back, hips and abdomen to work together. This makes daily activities such as walking, running, and sitting much easier. Strengthening the core offers many daily benefits including improved balance, improved posture, reduced lower back pain and improved physical activity.
- No equipment required. Intensify your workout by using aquamitts
Workout #2: Ai Chi Relaxation (15-minutes)
Ai (meaning “love”) Chi (“breath/essence/ being”) training is a graceful form of aquatic exercise that involves a series of movements performed in a slow, focused manner using deep breathing and accompanied by relaxing music.
Ai Chi is an efficient program for increasing oxygen and caloric consumption through correct positioning in the water and relaxes tension, relieves stress, improves mobility, strength and balance, and boosts mental alertness.
- No equipment required
Level: Beginner to Intermediate
